Hey Y'all,
We just back from our little Christmas and New Year trip to Vienna, Salzburg, and Prague. Overall it was an amazing trip and Heidi and I have made memories that will not soon be forgotten. We spent Christmas in Prague with Paul and Jasmine and several members of the Hotvolley team including Evan Patak and Fernando Morales. Because the Hotvolley team lives in the hotel where we were staying we got a great rate to stay in a really nice place. So we drove to Vienna from Klagenfurt on the 23rd with a teammate of mine and we were fortunate enough to stay with his family the first night. The morning of the 24th proved to be very hectic as our train passes which we had ordered from the internet to be delivered to Mario's (my teammate) parent's house hadn't arrived yet. Luckily his dad was nice enough to drive us all the way across Vienna to fish them out of the DHL warehouse. Because Christmas is tradiotionally celebrated on the evening of the 24th, the foreigner players of the Hotvolley team organized a large group christmas dinner. The food was amazing and we had a great time hanging out with the very diverse group. At midnight we went outside and shot off a whole bunch of fireworks. The morning of Christmas we slept in a little and then went into the city with Paul, Jasmine, Fernando, and his girlfriend Riesa. The center of Vienna is a large cluster of palaces, museams, huge government buildings, and expensive shops and hotels. The archatecture is very ornate and in even simple buildings you can see sculptures and gold carvings throughout. Some of the important things that we saw were the St. Stephan's Cathedral, the Palace, the Opera house, and of course perhaps one of the biggest Chriskindlemarkt in Europe. We had an awesome time in Vienna and hopefully we will get to come back at least one more time before we both come home.
